Production Meeting Jan 31

My final production meeting is Thursday Jan 31 at 1pm. I'd like everyone to be there, mostly so we can tie up a whole lot of loose ends:
- The upcoming rental on Feb 9
- Who will be handling payroll
- who will be handling inventory
- who will be handling scheduling

Sean McClelland will be joining us, so bring your Footloose questions. I have also asked Joy Finer to step in.

Upcoming Theater Rentals

February 8th, 2008
MAINSTAGE
8:00 am set up
10:00 go
Show runs about 2 1/2 hours.

Sound

Lights

• General wash
• houselights probably stay up
• can be run by designated event coordinator
  

Stage

• Dressing room - first floor. Make up/hairstyling for one.

• Stagehand backstage to page curtains, help talent on/off stage
  

I'd like Michelle and Gaby to work this event; they can flip a coin to see who's backstage and who's flipping the light switch in the booth. Tiku's on sound.


March 8th, 2008
Balcony Theater & Black Box
4:30 pm set up
7:30 performance

This is a choral presentation; the BB will be used as a waiting room for each choir to warm up and put on their robes. Choir size is up to 30, with about 100 people singing throughout the evening.

We will need two technicians for this event:
Technical coordinator
Sound Operator

Since this rental is concurrent with FOOTLOOSE, we may need to hire outside coordinator and sound op. Make recommendations to Joy Finer and Dave Arisco.

STAGE

• Clear stage of OZ set; allow for entrance through the In-One on either side.
• Black masking and cyc
  
• Tech coordinator to handle traffic backstage and assist with arranging stage
  

SOUND

• They are bringing their own sound and mics; we are providing a feed into our board
• We provide house sound op to oversee hook up and monitor house speakers
  
• They will need power for equipment and one keyboardLIGHTS

LIGHTS

• General lighting, up and down. Sound op can run slider.

AltarBoyz: schedule change

The February 6 10:30 am school matinee of ALTAR BOYZ is canceled due to FCAT testing.
Sleep in everyone!

Wizard of Oz is still up. Get yer asses on the Yellow Brick Road of Yellow Brick.

Production Meeting Jan 24

There will be a production meeting on January 4th at 1pm. We will be reviewing the calendar through FOOTLOOSE, and reviewing the status of WIZARD OF OZ.

AB; Tech Weekend notes

We had a dress run at 10pm Sunday:


SHOP notes:

• The masking legs need to be adjusted so they hang perpendicular.
• the "BOYZ" sign appears to be tipping down on the STAR side
• ALTAR keeps flapping in the breeze of the AC vent; perhaps it can be attached to the BOYZ sign
• For discussion with Dave, Patrick and Gene: would the traveller look better FLAT, or FULL? "Fullness" needs to be evened out, if we're going that way.
• The step units at the aisles are looking very tired; repaint, and do something about the hole in the carpet (replace carpet, or remove entirely)
• Pull up loose chain ends
• SLIDES: remove all animation/transition effects from the "big drop" sequence.
• repaint floor; maybe consider a stain finish for a darker look than the matte?

PROP notes:

• Paint STOOLS gloss black
• Paint Eric's Piano Stand gloss black
• Still waiting on sprinkler
• Still looking for larger water bottles
• Hot pot for dry ice - use one from PRODUCTION OFFICE
• KC will pick up dry ice for run of show; he'll be picking up first load on Tuesday.

Overall, it was a very good run through; the actors are ready for an audience, although we're still cleaning up sound and lights.

It turns out that February 1 is a teacher planning day, so the 10am performance on that day is CANCELLED.

It was re-scheduled for Wednesday, February 6. PLEASE MARK THIS ON YOUR CALENDARS NOW BEFORE YOU FORGET!! :-)

UPDATE on Production Meeting

The January 10 production meeting is pushed back to 1:00pm.
